About Gaia's Greens
Gaia's Greens was started by Rawls Whittlesey, a Certified Nutrition Consultant, Yoga Teacher and self-proclaimed "Greenie". Her search for quality organics frequently took her on multiple trips to a variety of supermarkets, farmers markets and roadside stands. The conflict between being environmentally friendly and driving miles and miles to get organic produce became really frustrating and she set out to find an alternative solution. She knew there were many others like her and when she put out the word that she was considering starting an organic box program similar to a CSA, the response was overwhelmingly positive.
Gaia is the Greek goddess of the Earth, the personification of the Earth, also known as Mother Earth. Gaia's Greens is all about the bounty of fruits and vegetables that spring from Mother Earth, and about the farming methods that protect and honor her.
