Green Beans with Mushrooms and Garlic
Yield: 4 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound green beans, ends trimmed
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ tablespoons butter
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Bring a large saucepan of water to a rolling boil. Add salt and beans. Cook beans for 5-10 minutes until crisp-tender to your liking. Drain and set aside.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet, melt butter over medium high heat. Sauté mushrooms in butter until browned (stirring only occasionally while sautéing the mushrooms will help them to brown more quickly and evenly). Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, another minute or two.
- Add drained beans and salt and pepper to taste. Sauté to heat through, then transfer to a serving bowl.
